What the ranges in this tool actually mean: Every benchmark range is the expected number for a player at your grade level who is on track to be recruited at that college level — not what college players post. This tool includes self-assessed technical scores (first touch, passing, defending, finishing) alongside athletic metrics. Technical scores are adjusted based on your competition level. A 7/10 first touch from an MLS Next environment is taken near face value. The same score from a local recreational league is discounted to reflect that coaches cannot assess what a 7/10 means without competition context. Athletic metrics (sprint, jump, beep) are objective and not adjusted. ODP participation partially offsets a lower competition multiplier by providing a known evaluation standard.
